Swami Vivekananda went to the Thakur Ghar and sang before the relics and picture of Ramakrishna.

The Swami went to the house of Mahendranath Gupta with others. He also visited Sir Jatindramohan Tagore, for dinner. Tagore after reading the Swami's Raja-Yoga expressed a desire to learn more on the subject in a private interview.

  18 Sun     19 Mon In the late afternoon, all the members of the Belur Math (except Brahmananda and a brahmacharin) gathered at the monastery and a photographer was called in. "A photo of Swamiji and of S. Turiyananda were taken," the Math Diary relates. Two group photographs were taken.
That night a meeting was held to offer parting address to Swamiji. All were present.
The meeting was opened by Swami Saradananda. An address was given to Swamiji and Swami Turiyananda by the junior members of the Math. Swami Akhandananda, Swami Trigunatita, Haramohan Babu and the Marhatti Brahmin spoke. Turiyananda gave a short reply. Swamiji spoke.

Evening
He went to Dakshineshwar with the monks. Margaret Noble waited in the garden where the five trees grew together.

Leaves India for second visit to the West

Banquet for Vivekananda and Turiyananda at home of Sarada Devi, on Bosepara Lane in Baghbazar. All the monks were invited. He left at 3 pm for Princeps Ghat. 5 pm Launch arrived to take Vivekananda, Turiyananda, Nivedita to Golconda.

Sunday morning, the pier was crowded with people waiting to see the Swami. He was not allowed to land because of plague quarantine. His admirers and friends got on boats and came in small groups to see him The Swami spoke to them from the ship, keeping some distance between them. Alasinga Perumal, Biligiri Aiyangar, G.G. Narasimacharya, Dr. Nanjunda Rao, Singaravela Mudalier, Mr. Chamier and others came. Ramakrishnananda and Nirbhayananda came. The Swami lowered an earthen jar of Ganga water to them. In the evening, the ship left the harbor.

At 7 am, the ship reached Colombo. He met Mrs. Higgins and visited her boarding school for Buddhist girls and the convent and school of the Countess of Canovara. In the evening, the ship left Colombo and entered the Arabian Sea.
